CANCER is now treatable only through a small needle puncture. No Surgery , No Chemo , No Radiation "INTERVENTIONS IN CANCER"

From diagnosis of cancer to its treatment INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY offers better options, which are minimally invasive and equally effective as surgery/ chemo/ radiation. FNAC / BIOPSY - to determine its cancer we have to take a sample from the tumor for examination.

Treatment of these cancers can be done through Interventional Radiology( liver, lung, kidney, breast , thyroid and bone )

Percutaneous Radio Frequency Ablation/ Micro Wave Ablation

- Killing the cancer cells by burning them up through a small puncture. liver, Kidney, breast , lung , thyroid & bone cancers can be treated by Burning them off.

Selective Chemo Embolization Of Liver Cancer - :

Trans arterial bland embolization/ Trans arterial chemo embolization(TACE )- cutting the blood supply of cancer cells along with depositing of chemo drug directly into the tumor - kills them. Rest of normal liver and entire body will not be effected by toxic effects of chemo drug.

DC bead trans arterial chemo embolization -cutting the blood supply, using special spherical particles which also deliver the drug into the tumor.

Trans arterial radio embolization (TARE ) delivering radiation directly in to tumor, with out causing any harm to normal liver and rest of body.

All procedures are done only through small, single needle puncture , no cut, no suture, no scar.

Portacath insertion and removal

A portacath (Port) is an implanted device giving access to veins for patients who need regular long-term administration of antibiotics or chemotherapy drugs. Chemotherapy drugs can be toxic and often need to be delivered into a large central vein where the drugs are instantly diluted by the blood stream and distributed efficiently to the entire body.

For patients with difficult veins, ports can also be used for withdrawing blood for blood tests.

Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC line insertion)

A Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter or PICC line is a long, thin, flexible tube used for administering intravenous fluids and medication upto 6 months.

It is inserted into a peripheral vein, usually in the upper arm and then advanced through increasingly larger veins until the catheter tip reaches a large vein in the chest above the heart.

PTBD(Percutaneous transhepatic biliary Drainage) and biliary stenting :To relieve obstructive jaundice in unresectable cholangiocarcinoma and Ca gall bladder

Pre op angioembolisation:To reduce vascularity of tumour /shrink the size of mass

Cancer Related pain treatment :Celiac plexus block, stellate ganglion block etc.
